On June 30th 2014 Jan and Alan Andrews represented Blisworth Canal Partnership at a reception at the House of Lords as guests of Canal and River Trust. All part of the Trust's 2nd anniversary celebrations. Lord Faulkner hosted the gathering and Dan Rogerson (Minister for Waterways), Tony Hales (Chair of the Trust) and Dame Juila Cleverdon CBE all spoke of the Trust's achievements so far. Blisworth Canal Partnership received a glowing accolade from Tony Hales, unexpected but greatly appreciated. Jan and Alan enjoyed sharing our successes with a whole range of people present from Canal and River Trust executives, several dignatories and other volunteers. Altogether a brilliant occasion and an honour to be invited to be part of it.

On Sunday 15th March a group of Beavers and their leaders from the 49th Northampton Scout Group enjoyed walking the towpath to visit the Tunnel Hut. Members of the Canal Partnership team chatted to them about the history of the hut and Blisworth Tunnel. The group then enjoyed looking at the Hut Mural and finding all of the wildlife on it that they might then see in the Tunnel Spinney.

This has enabled us to purchase more hand tools and safety equipment. These have already been put to good use during our regular workparties in the Tunnel Spinney.

Many thanks to South Northants Homes, in particular the Community Development Team and Resident Involvement Officers who supported our application.
